- Synopsis:

Transport - classification, territorial aspect, transportation problem. Road classification, transportation network. Design categories of roads, traffic stream characteristics. Design of the roads layout and longitudinal section, route space effect. Design of the road earthwork, drainage of the roads. Pavements. Environmental impact, traffic calm down, crossings.
Introduction to the transport construction. Projection principles of tramway tracks. Constructive and geometric disposal of tramway tracks. Basic characteristics of underground in Prague. Construction of railway track including of solution transversals sections.

The student will gain an overview in the field of transport differentiation and categorization and impact of traffic on environment. He will familiarize with the principles of road and railway design, including the dimensioning of structures, road (urban roads) type specifications. The student will gain an overview in railroad design and solutions in urban areas.
