Synopsis:

Hydrology, morphology, chemistry, biology and ecotoxicology of urban streams. Ecological risks of urban drainage. Pollution in urban catchment, its origin, key pollutants and main transport and transformation processes during dry and wet weather. Impact of urbanization on receiving waters. Most important ecological concepts of streams.

Syllabus of lectures:

Hydrology, morphology, chemistry, biology and ecotoxicology of urban streams. Ecological risks of urban drainage. Pollution in urban catchment, its origin, key pollutants and main transport and transformation processes during dry and wet weather.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Impact of urbanization on receiving waters. Most important ecological concepts of streams.

Study Objective:

To understand impacts of catchment urbanization on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and ecological processes in the catchment. The importance of these changes for engineering practice.
