Lectures: Purpose of monitoring. Rainfall measurement. Discharge measurement in sewers or open channels. Water quality monitoring. Measurement uncertainties. Excercise: Raingauge calibration. Quantification of infiltration in sewers. Calculation of measurement uncertainties.

Study Objective:

To learn basics of monitoring and measurement in the urban drainage systém: purpose of monitoring, measured parameters, range of monitoring devices, strategy of monitoring, measurement uncertainties.
