Synopsis:

Introduction to multi-phase media description, classification and behaviour, compressibility and strength, soil testing, earth pressures, assessment of stability and compression of selected tasks, soil compaction, applications in civil engineering.

Basic design methods for spread foundations, pile foundations, retaining structures, foundation pits, sheet pile walls, anchors, improving foundation soils.

Basics of rock mechanics and underground structures
