The course deals with the following items.
Non-destructive evaluation of structural timber and timber
members. Fracture mechanics in timber engineering. Fatigue
design for timber and wood-based materials. Mathematical
modelling as a tool for test method design. System reliability
of timber components and structures. Advanced modelling of
timber member connections. Timber concrete composite
structures. A hybrid deterministic and stochastic approach to
inelastic modelling and analysis of timber structures.
Simulation-based reliability assessment in design of timber
structures.
