1. Structural design process, sequence of activities, strategies during the various stages, modelling, design formats, safety concepts

2. Material properties: concrete, reinforcement, bond

3. Composite behaviour, moment-curvature, biaxial behaviour of cracked concrete

4. Ultimit limit state principles, structural models, elastic, elasto-plastic, nonlinear analysis

5. Serviceability limit states principles, crack control, deflection control, time dependent behaviour

6. Member design :flexural design of beams and one-way slabs

7. Columns under bending and axial load

8. Shear and torsion. Ancorage and detailing principles, development of reinforcement, splices

9. Deep beams and discontinuity regions, corbels, strut-and-tie method

10. Frames, walls

11. Two-way slab systems, strip method, yield-line method

12. Fondations, footings, retaining structures

13. Durability of concrete

14. Special concrete and applications
