Synopsis:

The lectures cover markup languages used in the www environment. It's focused on standards and recommendations of formats descriptions of www. The lectures also offer practical touch of all interesting parts.

1.The principles of the hypertext systems functionality

2.HTML - HyperText Markup Language - basic principles

3.HTML - the reference desription of HTML entities

4.XHTML - the formal specification of new HTML revision

5.XHTML - structural principles of hypertext documents desription

6.CSS - formal specification of hypertext document's style

7.CSS - the reference description of style entities according to usability in hypermedia environment

8.XML - the formal specification for structural data exchange

9.SVG - the format of vector based data

10.JPEG, PNG - the formats of bitmap based data and their usability in hypertext documents

11.WAI - access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect

12.MathML - formal specification of Math Markup Language

13.LibWWW - modular library description

14.DocBook - a practical XML application

Study Objective:

The lecture provides a complex view to the methods and approaches of processing, management and analytical retrieval from mass of non-structured data. Students will deeply use their previous knowledge of the graph theory - mainly trees. The application skills of data coding principles will be further extended.
