Synopsis:

Basic syntheses of polymer materials, polymer characterization and processing. Properties of polymer matrix on macro-, micro-, nanometric, and molecular levels and the solution of relation synthesis - properties - processing, practical examples of solutions of chosen problems. The choice of polymers for physical studies.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Introduction - basic terminology of polymers, their structure and properties. 2. Radical polymerizations - theory, practical techniques and product properties. 3. Ionic polymerizations - theory, practical techniques and product properties. 4. Complex-coordination polymerizations - theory, techniques and product properties. 5. Polycondenzation, polyaddition and chosen special polymerizations. 6. Synthesis and properties of common technical polymers. 7. Additional chemical and physical modifications of polymers. 8. Degradation, stabilization, stabilizability of polymers - additives - polymer processing. 9. Characterization of polymers on molecular level - theory/practice. 10. Characterization of polymers on macro-, micro-, and nanometric levels. 11. Chemical and physical heterogeneities of polymer matrix. 12. Final discussion - relevance of physical data, most frequent errors in work with polymers.
