Research methods in economic theory are interpreted in the introduction to this subject and the development of economical thought from the ancient world to present economical theories. The important part is microeconomy, where is discussed theory of consumer and marginal utility. In the second part is discussed theory of the firm and the decision making in the perfect competition and in the imperfect competition. In macroeconomy there are discussed methods of Gross domestic product, unemployment, inflation and monetary and fiscal policy. In the last part there is discussed economic cycle and the world economy.

The aim of the subject is to introduce to the students basic economical conceptions. Basic parts of microeconomy and macroeconomy are discussed in this subject.
