- Synopsis:

The course will introduce student into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and acquaint him/her with its functions in subtechnical or easy technical texts on information technology. Furthermore, it will cover topics specific to student life and study at university, concentrating both on speaking and writing. Guided writing will include CV and basics of formal letters (e.g., applications, personal statement).
- Requirements:

Reliable entrance competence and good foundations of the English language of at least level B1 of CEFR.

Topics based on the textbook, namely: basic computer terminology, computer architecture, applications, peripherals, operation systems, grafics user interface.
Information retrieval from texts, interpreting visual information, matching information

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Professional English used in Information Technology, with a view to presented issues,lexis,transforming visuals, various types of descriptions, and working with informaion and data.
