Synopsis:

Advanced design approaches for selected types of footings, design based on soil - structure interaction. Monitoring in foundation engineering. Eurocode 7. Faults and case histories in foundation engineering.

Introduction, design considerations of selected structures, computer codes

Design of earth cut for road / railway, construction and loading stages

Monitoring of selected structures, preconditions, design of instrumentation

Piles I. - action of combined loads (rigid / flexible pile)

Piles II. - pile group

Footing slab I. - design with respect to soil - structure interaction

Footing slab II. - piled raft, example and discussion

Bracing I. - design approaches related to soil - structure interaction

Bracing II. - FEM application, excavation, loading stages, deformation development

Bracing III. - composite and diaphragm walls

Eurocode 7 - 1, principles, design approaches

Faults in foundation engineering design and remedial actions, case histories

Site investigation, soil/rock data and geotechnical site model

Examples of geotechnical constructions and potential risk identification
