Synopsis:

Project management. Process plant design and economics. Flowsheeting. Process balances (Excel, PRO/II). Financial cost estimates in process plant designing. Design documentation. Permitting. Contracts and delivery terms conditions.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Specification of a case study of process plant. Design overview.

2. Variant conceptual designs of the case study. Basic economical study of the project.

3. The project costs and their structure. Financial costs estimates for the construction and technological part of the project.

4. Profit rate of the project and own resources. Profitability criteria. Decision on the project realization.

5. Process flow diagram. Process and instrumentation diagram. Mass and enthalpy balances.

6. Process balances in software Excel.

7. Process balances in software PRO/II.

8. Project design documentation - Basic Design.

9. Project design documentation - permitting.

10. Project design documentation - Detail Design. Equipment layout and datasheets.

11. Pipelines - calculation of temperature dilatations.

12. Pipelines - documentation of the piping in the project.

13. Contractual relations and delivery systems. Presentation of the developed project.
