Subject is focused on the problematics of organic chemistry and biochemistry, i.a. with particular focus on electronic structure, stereochemistry, chemical reactivity, reaction mechanisms, important natural species, and organic analysis.
- Requirements:

Credit condition: attendance min. 70%, succesfull passing of 2 written tests, basic biochemical compounds formulae
- Syllabus of lectures:

1.Chemical bond, molecular orbitals, sigma a pi bonds, conjugation, resonance, stability of molecules, shapes of molecules, bond polarity , intermolecular interactions
2.Nomenclature of organic chemistry, functional groups, isomerism, conformations, chirality
3.Acids and bases, Arrhenius, Bronsted-Lowry and Lewis theory, organic ions a radicals and their stability
4.Basic kinds of organic reactions, reaction kinetics, chemical equilibrium, thermochemistry, kinetically a termodynamically controlled reactions
5.Alifatic a cyclic alkanes, alkenes and alkynes, their stereochemistry, aromatic compounds
6.Oxygen containing compounds: ethers, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and carboxylic acids
7.Halogenides, organometallic compounds, compounds containing sulphur
8.Nitrogen compounds: amines, nitro- and nitroso- compounds
9.Carboxylic acid derivatives: esters, amides, halogenides, anhydrides and nitriles
10.Aminoacids, peptides and proteins
11.Heterocyclic compounds and nucleic acids
12.Carbohydrates, lipids, terpenes, steroids
13. Metabolisms ofsacharides and lipids
14.Organic analysis, separation methods, chromatography, mass spectrometry. UV-Vis, vibrational and NMR spectroscopy
