Synopsis:

Lectures are oriented on medical informatics definition and basic characteristic of the different specialized areas. The relations between IS and health care structure, financing and controlling are analyzed as well. Some basic information technology, HW and SW tools are described in relation to IS design. A special attention is paid to medical data coding and interpretation, data and communication standards. Different types and features of clinical and hospital IS, decision support systems and regional health care IS are analyzed and discussed. Methodology of IS development, implementation and support are presented as well.

Requirements:

Conclusion of the subject is examination. Examination will take place in the form of the test. 30 points can be obtained at the end of the semester in computer exercises, not more than 70 points can be given for the final test. For the completion of the course is the need to obtain credit from the exercise.

From exercises you can get a maximum of 30 points. To qualify for compensation you need to 15 points. You can obtain up to 18 points for active participation in the exercises (1.5 point per hour) or a zápočtovou job. Up to 12 points you can get for the midterm test that will take place in 13. class.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Practical training and exploitation of complex Hospital Information System in training environment. Patient admission and administration in HIS. Orders, findings and medical report generation. Data collection and patient billing in inpatient and outpatient environment.

Study Objective:

The main aim of this subject is to provide an interative explanation of philosophy, design, development and implementation of information systems in health care including practical aspects.
