- Synopsis:
-
The course introduces the general principles and concepts in pharmacology, mechanisms of action of individual groups of drugs and their therapeutic use. Emphasis will be placed on the ability of students to orientate themselves in drug databases, search for self-relevant information and methods of clinical evaluation of new drugs. Acquired knowledge should enable students to better communicate with health professionals in the field of pharmacotherapy and testing of new drugs.
- Requirements:
-
Credit: 100% active participation, the test - at least 80% correct answers
Test: test - at least 80% correct responses in the range of literature and reference
lectured
When repeating a test or oral exam
(sets of questions are available on the website of the Department)
Note: The interval between regular and repeat the test or tests must be provisioned at least 7 days.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1st topic - Introduction, organizational issues. Introduction to pharmacology, general concepts v.s. Special pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug. Types of drug therapy (treating the cause, replacement therapy ....). Sources of drugs, nomenclature, sources of information about drugs.
