Theoretical and practical aspects of searching for information in selected information sources. Theory linked with hands-on practice - searching in electronic sources (science, technology and economics).

The objective of this course is to teach the students how to perform and formalise search tasks and select the most effective search strategies to find the largest possible quantity of information relevant to the subject matter concerned and select the right items from the huge quantities of information stored in databases. The students will get familiar with the most common search strategies and the most effective search methods (based on search tasks, using Boolean operators).
