- Jan Pokorný (gar.)
- Tutor:
- Marián Liberko
- Supervisor:
- Department of medical branches and humanities
- Synopsis:
-
The course introduces the general principles and concepts in pharmacology, mechanisms of action of individual groups of drugs and their therapeutic use. Emphasis will be placed on the ability of students to orientate themselves in drug databases, search for self-relevant information and methods of clinical evaluation of new drugs. Acquired knowledge should enable students to better communicate with health professionals in the field of pharmacotherapy and testing of new drugs.
- Requirements:
-
credit:
Terms of credit: participation in exercises, elaboration of a given paper, the student raised a passing inspection tests.
examination:
The test is written (verbal correction),80 % success rate. The total evaluation will also include the results of control tests during the semester. Details will be communicated to the first lecture.
caution: intervals between repeated examinations must not be shorter than seven days
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1.st topic - Introduction, organizational issues. Introduction to pharmacology, general concepts v.s. Special pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug. Types of drug therapy (treating the cause, replacement therapy ....). Sources of drugs, nomenclature, sources of information about drugs.
