Scope of the subject
The subject provides a brief, clear and integral concept of medical branches, particularly internal medicine. The purpose of the subject is to acquaint the student with basic diseases, with primary and secondary prevention of internal diseases and to define terms associated with the patient health condition consideration.
The student should be able to compare and differentiate from each other methods of health examination, described procedures for the basic clinical examination and understand its principle and importance. He/she is supposed to know methods of monitoring the patient health condition.

Credit Requirements and tests
Partial requirements:
Active participation in all exercises and seminars. Development of two seminar papers on the subject, to determine, by mutual agreement the teacher.
Credit:
100% attendance and at least one paper at a seminar or training, based on one of two student seminar papers processed, which will be judged on content, method of processing, speech clarity and the listener. The student also submits two written reports, prepared by exhaustive, reviewed by the teacher and, if necessary, invite the listener to the consultation. If a student fails to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the issue, the teacher asks him to essay revision.
Examination:
form of test in the range of literature and reference substances odpřednášené in lectures focusing on the physical examination, history taking skills, indications, principles and suitability of the instrumentation used in the fields of internal medicine (cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, Pneumology), in sports medicine, in medical laboratories in surgery, in obstetrics, in obstetrics, rehabilitation medicine, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. The minimum score for meeting the tests 19 points from 30 possible. The test contains 30 questions with three possible answers (the number of correct answers from zero to three).
When evaluating the studies used grading scale, which is in line with the ECTS grading scale.

The classification is entered in the study. In the student trying to give letter abbreviations, verbal classification level in parentheses, the date of the examination or the date of its last part and sign it. The classification level of F in the student's record.

health care and patient relationship, communication principles, methods of dialogue, medical confidentiality, secrecy of the law;
medical records conducted in a medical facility, the principles of leadership, various types of requisitions, their purpose, results and archiving of medical records;
types of medical devices, their position in the health care system, the necessary instrumentation and personnel resources, the importance of the diagnostic, therapeutic, and rekonvalescenčním monitoring system of care for the sick;
nutritional therapy as an essential part of the healing process, organization, diet food security in healthcare facilities, diet patient outside a health facility;
types of case histories, the way of history taking, the importance of history in the diagnosis;
principles of patient examination, presens status, knowledge of normal findings on examination of individual organs, the method of their evaluation;
Overview of basic medical examination for entrance examination, knowledge of the physical nature of these methods (blood pressure, pulse);
explain the concept of biological material, its distribution, method of collection, sampling, safety, necessary protective equipment, sampling kits, disposable equipment, method of disposal;
explain basic concepts and procedures with which the student is at work in health care encounters (cannula, drain, infusion set, transfusion set, ....)
an explanation of basic medical services and procedures (puncture, cannulation, drainage, ...), demand nepřístrojové equipment;
the allocation method of protecting a patient against pathogenic agents, methodologies, principles of individual techniques, instrumentation requirements (sterilizer, autoclave), and consumables;

The dialysis unit (history, development, principle and indication of the dialysis, dialysis instruments, perspectives)
Endoscopy (the principles of endoscopic examinations, indications for use, instrumental technique, taking care of instruments)
Diagnostic sonography (physical principle of sonographic imaging, instrumental techniques used in medicine, suitable indications, diagnostic yield)
Laparoscopy (historical development, principle, instrumental technique, diagnostic and therapeutic use)
Organization of work at operating theatre (principles, surgical set, logistics of surgical tools, instrumental equipment)
Instrumental techniques in cardiology (outline of examinations employed in diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases, suitable indications, their contribution to the subsequent therapeutic procedure)

2.nd week - Principles of work with biological material (principles of taking samples, handling with biological material, handling with used sampled material, liquidation of infectious material, sampling systems)
3.rd week - Aseptic and antiseptic principles, types of sterilization, disinfection
4.th week - Rules of interviews with patients. Exercise in establishing the anamnesis, analysis of knowledge acquired
5.th week - Physical examination of patients I (attitude to patients, contact with patients, methodology of in their examination, suitable background, physical examination by inspection, palpation, auscultation, preliminary neurological examination, indirect measurement of the blood pressure)
6.th week - Physical examination of patients II (attitude to patients, contact with patients, methodology of their examination, suitable background, physical examination by inspection, palpation, auscultation, preliminary neurological examination, indirect measurement of the blood pressure)
7.th week - Surgical consumables and instruments (distribution, principles of storing, principles of taking care of surgical tools, principles of economic handling)
8.th week - Basic surgical interventions (punctions, drainages, drains, cannulation, cannulas)
9.th week - Principles of taking care of endoscopic instruments
10.th week - Types of medical facilities (acute hospital care, ambulatory care, subsequent care, rehabilitation institutes, rehabilitation departments)
11.th week - Principles of catering in healthcare institutions (types of diets, organization of catering, nutritional therapy)
12.th week - Principles of taking care of pregnant women (prenatal units, medical examinations, preparation to delivery, physical exercise in pregnancy, participation of the father)
