Synopsis:

The aim is to acquaint students with fundamental concepts of laws and practices relating to the death of a man (the definition and diagnosis of death, natural death, violent, sudden, unexpected, visitation of the deceased, autopsy), basic diagnostic procedures for autopsies, auxiliary tests (histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical , biochemical, toxicological, molecular biological), basic biomechanics, traumatology and forensic practices in mass disasters.

Requirements:

Students must demonstrate knowledge of processing and completing an essay, and must pass a written final test.

Syllabus of lectures:

Concept of forensic medicine, basic concepts, death, and autopsy examination of deaths, postmortem changes, vital reaction, determining time of death.

Sudden death, SIDS.

Tours of living people, biomechanics of injury, blunt, sharp, gunshot wounds.

Choking, trauma high and low temperature, electric current, changing the pressure and ionizing radiation.

Traffic accidents, aviation accidents, fall injuries. Fundamentals of biomechanics, traumatology and forensic practice in mass disasters.

Identification.

Ancillary examinations at autopsy (histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical, biochemical, toxicological, molecular biological).
