Students are introduced to the basic types of enterprise information systems and to the rules of financing and budgeting of ICT and ROI. They learn TCO models for particular module of ICT and fundamentals of cost benchmarking and quantitative one as well. They understand evaluation of IT contribution to business and leveraging of IT value from business point of view. They are introduced to sourcing strategy. Particular types of outsourcing will be introduced with regard to assets ownership and the relevant selection criteria for particular types of outsourcing. Outsourcing relationship management issues will be presented. The module provides students with tools for process monitoring, measuring, optimizing and relevant metrics selection. Students learn methods and tools covering the area of Corporate Performance Management CPM.

Common knowledge of basic ICT layers from infrastructure, databases, up to application layer is required.

1. Introduction to basic types of enterprise information systems (ERP, BI, SCM, CRM).
2. Worldwide standards and examples of vendor solution.
3. IT budgets, IT controlling, projects budgeting, feasibility study principles.
4. TCO models regarding particular parts of IT system, metrics and methods of peer assessment.
5. Corporate Performance Management fundamentals, metrics and key performance indicators design.
6. The business value of IT assessment.
7. Service availability, Disaster recovery, Business continuity planning.
8. Case studies of ERP systems.

Students are to understand the structure of ICT budget and financial principles, information technologies assessment, and methods of benchmarking. They will be able to design and assess a sourcing strategy regarding operations and development of ICT within an enterprise. They are able to design relevant metrics and key performance indicators. They learn methods of process performance measurement.
