Synopsis:

The target of the subject is to acquaint students with basic problems of psychology, psychiatry and interpersonal communication. The student masters basic orientation in the discipline and is able to establish diagnosis of basic pathological phenomena and recognize their danger, and is able to formulate and manage basic solution of the originated problems and its prevention.

Syllabus of lectures:

Lectures:

General problems of psychology - subject of psychology, targets and tasks, brief history, structure, methods.

General characteristics of mental condition: organism and environment, concept of psyche.

Biological and social determination of psyche: nervous system, brain, development of psyche, origination of human consciousness.

Mental processes and conditions: cognitive processes - perception, memory and learning.

Mental processes and condition: cognitive processes - attentiveness, imaginations, thinking, types and characteristics of thinking, language.

Intelligence: intellect, intelligence, IQ, emotional IQ.

Dynamics of behaviour and activity, emotions and behaviour.

Motivation of human behaviour, behaviour of man in tedious situations, volitional processes, skills and capabilities.

Personality - psychological theory of personality.

Personality and its structure.

Typology of personality.

Origination and development of personality.

Psychology of upbringing: styles, upbringing of selected personality aspects, family - communication.

Psychology of learning.

Tutorials:

Practical training of general concepts, relationships, general characteristics of psyche - organism and environment.

Practical applications of knowledge of biological and social determination of psyche: nervous system, brain, development, origination of human cognition.

5th - 6th weeks Practical knowledge of mental processes and conditions: cognitive processes - perception, memory and learning. Mental processes and conditions - training of cognitive processes - attentiveness, imaginations, thinking, types and characteristics of thinking, language.

7th - 8th weeks Intelligence: intellect, intelligence, IQ, emotional IQ (possibilities of practical performance and evaluation of IQ tests). Diagnostics and managing dynamics of behaviour and activity - emotions and behaviour.

9th - 10th weeks Motivation of human behaviour, behaviour of man in tedious situation, volitional processes, skills and capabilities. Practical knowledge of personality - psychological theory of personality, personality and its structure.

11th - 12th week Diagnostics of typology of the personality. Learning disorders - causes, practical examples. Psychology of the education - styles, education of selected aspects of personality, family - communication.
