Synopsis:

Structure and function of cellular compartments. Structure and function of proteins. Enzymes as catalysts. Bioenergetics. Biological oxidation. Biogenic amines. Biochemistry of hormones and cytokines, hormonal regulation. Biologically important radicals. Metabolism of saccharides, lipids and lipoproteins, amino acids, proteins, nucleotides and nucleic acids. Regulation of the metabolism at cellular and organ levels. Biochemistry of the digestive tract, pancreas, biochemistry of the liver and metabolism of xenobiotics. Biochemistry of the kidneys. Biochemistry of tetrapyrroles and porphyrins. Biochemistry of muscles and bones. Biochemistry of the nervous system. Biochemistry of the blood, haemocoagulation and fibrinolysis. Metabolism of body fluids and ions, acidobasic equilibrium.

Requirements:

For the credit requires 86% attendance at seminars (perhaps one absence). Another condition is the processing of paper on a given topic, including its presentation at seminars (presentation of 20 to 25 min. On a given topic, presentations prepared in PowerPoint).

It is a written form, a test with the chosen answers. The test is open to only students who have been granted credit. Retake the test is also writing with at least one week apart. The test contains a total of 30 test questions: Score: 30 to 29 correct answers = 1 (A) 28 to 27 correct answers = 1.5 (B) 26 to 24 correct answers = 2 (C) 23 to 22 correct answers
