Synopsis:

Introduction to assistive technology. Disabled human users of assistive technology. Examples, history, Current technology. Sensors and actuators using for human-machine interface construction. Preprocessing and biological signal using for wheelchair movement control, for PC mouse control without hand using, etc. Embedded systems, their programming and algorithms. Alternative communication systems for handicapped people. Artificial intelligence and assistive technology.

Requirements:

Attendance in all exercises (maximum 3 excused absences)

and succesfully graduating of final test (minimum 50 points

from 100).

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Introduction to assistive technology. Disabled human users of assistive technology. Examples, history, Current technology.

2.Sensors and actuators using for human-machine interface construction.

3.Preprocessing and biological signal using for wheelchair movement control, for PC mouse control without hand using, etc.

4.Embedded systems, their programming and algorithms.

5.Alternative communication systems for handicapped people.

6.Artificial intelligence and assistive technology.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1.Biological signal acquisition (EOG, EMG) and its correction for human-machine interface. BIOPAC

2.Analysis, preprocessing and modification of signals in Matlab software environment.

3.Computer communication interfaces.

4.Kinematic chain control and PC mouse control based on EMG and EOG signals.

5.Basic algorithms of voice recognition (Matlab)

6.Basic image recognition algorithms (Matlab)

7.Neural networks and fuzzy logic systems in control and recognition tasks.

Study Objective:

The goal is to explain using of IT technology for disabled human users.
