1. Basic concepts, data networks, protocols, interfaces.

2. Data link, conventional data interfaces and protocols (V, X, RS).

3. Data interfaces and protocols: USB, W-USB, IEEE1394.

4. Data interfaces and protocols: MIDI, S/PDIF.

5. EMC of data transmission systems, influence of interference.

6. Impulse noise, susceptibility testing.

7. Methods for securing of data transmission - cyclic codes (CRC) and R-S codes.

8. Methods for securing of data transmission - convolutional codes and data interleaving.

9. Advanced modulation methods.

10. Using telecommunication lines for data transmission (xDSL).

11. Using power distribution lines and networks for data transmission (PLC, BPL).

12. Data transmission in cable TV (CATV) networks.

13. Data transmission in cellular (mobile) networks.

14. Technologies for and quality of videoconferencing and IPTV services.

5. Laboratory task #3 (Optimization of error protection in xDSL systems).

6. Laboratory task #4 (Applications for PLC and BPL).

7. Laboratory task #5 (Data transmission in CATV).

8. Laboratory task #6 (Determination of quality of service in IPTV).

9. Laboratory task #7 (Data transmission applications in mobile networks).

10. Laboratory task #8 (Operational measurement of EMC).

11. Simulation and modeling of modern modulation methods.

12. Inspection of delivered laboratory reports. Test.

13. Excursion.

14. Assignment of credits.
