Synopsis:

Lectures are oriented to techniques required for safe and efficient communication in networks bases on telecommunication, local area and wireless technologies. Structures of network messages and methods of their usage in distributed applications and distributed algorithms are presented in several lectures.

The aim of exercises is to try some of mechanisms and to obtain an experience with frequently utilized programming techniques.

Requirements:

Examination will be given in the written form and estimated according to the ECTS scale.

Prerequisites are passing all the exercises (max 3 leaves of absence), and the successful handling of the two tests (in the middle and at the end of the

1. Network architecture

2. IP layer (network graphs, routers)

3. IP Layer (MPLS, DNS0

4. Local area networks, shared communication channels, CSMA/CD, Ethernet technologies.

5. Private IP netoworks

6. Network administration (SNMP, CMIP, RMON)

7. Communication protocols (UDP, TCP, SCTP)

8. Wireless networks, CSMA/CA, IEEE 802.11 / WiFi, Bluetooth.

9. Sensors networks (ZigBee, Ad-hoc architecture)

10. Network protocols

11. Application structure (client-server, databases, cloud architecture)

12. Cryptography, symmetric and asymmetric keys.

13. Security protocols (SSH, SSN, VPN)
