Synopsis:

Ergotherapy is therapy by labour. Its target is the identification of the occupation enjoyment and integration of persons with physical, sensory or mental handicaps.

The target is training of professional and social capacity to achieve the independence in the personal, social and professional life.

Principles: delimitation of ergotherapy as a tool of the medical rehabilitation; position of ergotherapy as related to other medicinal procedures. Working with patients in ergotherapy. Ergotherapy includes targeted and fitness education and education for self-sufficiency and independence. What are the tasks of self-sufficiency and its possibilities in different types of involvements? What complex tools are available? Ergotherapy in childhood: motoricity involvements, psychomotor development. Role of games and toys in ergotherapy, neurophysiological techniques. Te use of ergotherapy in involvements of peripheral nerves and of the central nervous system.

CNS: ergotherapy in cerebrovascular events: self-sufficiency, independence, targeted ergotherapy and ergotherapy in different types of aphasia. Ergotherapy in psychiatry, and in mental disorders, functional and fitness ergotherapy, creative activities, self-sufficiency, tools. Ergotherapy in ageing population - special features of ergotherapy in different groups of elderly people, fitness and creative activities, self-sufficiency, tools. Ergotherapy in involvements of the hand - possibilities of targeted ergotherapy in different involvements of the hand; compensatory tools.

Tasks of ergotherapy: sensory-locomotor functional therapy, training of cognitive functions and self-sufficiency, training in home environment.

Requirements:

credit:

100% participation in practical exercises,

demonstration of the knowledge mastered by a written test.

examination:

written test, 80% success rate.

Oral examination on the basis of the decision field supervisor.

caution: intervals between repeated examinations must not be shorter than seven days.
