Tutor:
Matej Daniel (gar.)
Supervisor:
Department of Biomedical Technology
Synopsis:

The subject biomechanics, methods and physical models of biomechanics (dimensional analysis, rigid body, rheological models, streaming, numerical methods). Biomechanics of human systems: anatomy, function, mechanisms (nervous system, locomotor system - supporting and locomotor apparatus, cardiac and vascular system). Tools, prostheses, treatment - biomaterials and biocompatibility. Basic anatomical information. Bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons - mechanical action. Implantates, bandages, ortheses and their mechanical effects. Mechanics of the hand, forceful grip. Mechanics of the distal limb, varosity and valgosity, treatment with ortheses. Solution of the bone state of stress by the method of finite elements. Scoliosis of the spine, treatment with ortheses, state of stress and deformation in the spine, biomechanics of blood vessels, vocal cords and myocardium.
