The subject surveys basic techniques used in artificial intelligence (AI) including statistical pattern recognition, neural networks, evolutionary algorithms for optimization and multiagent systems. The emphasis is given to practical applications of these methods. Participants should get understanding of these methods a should be able to choose the right method of solution for various classification, regression, optimization or planning tasks.
