- Synopsis:
-
Fundamentals of rigid body mechanics (force, moment, equilibrium, dynamic effects) and fluid mechanics and low speed aerodynamics (continuity equation, motion equations, viscosity, potential and rotational flow, laminar and turbulent flow, dimensional analysis, boundary layer). Aerofoil (conform transformation, singularity method, theory of thin profile, boundary layer effects, geometric and aerodynamic characteristics, NACA series, flaps and slots). Wing (geometric and aerodynamic characteristics, induced drag and angle of attack, theory of wing). Plane propulsion, aerodynamics of propeller. Aerodynamics of aircraft (characteristics, tail surfaces, aerodynamic and gravity centre, aerodynamics systems, stability and controllability). High velocity aerodynamics, fundamentals of thermodynamics and gas dynamic (sound velocity, compressibility, one-dimensional flow, shock and expansion wave). Subsonic and supersonic flow around airfoil and wing. Flight mechanics (Earth atmosphere, plane performances).
