The course is open to students who decided to study English language as the major language and took part in preparatory course in winter term or have already achieved the required basic knowledge of the language (at least to the A2 level according to the Common European Framework). The aim of course is to sustain and develop all parts of the language - reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar. After successful completion of the course the student becomes a so-called „independent user“ (level B1). It means they can understand routine information and articles, and the general meaning of non-routine information within a familiar area. They can express opinions on abstract and cultural matters in a limited way or offer advice within a known area and understand instructions or public announcements. They can write letters or make notes on familiar or predictable matters.
