Students will obtain the basic knowledge in a fundamental functional principles of the telecommunication systems, the digital transmission systems a signal processing theory. The main subjects are physical media parameters, access and backbone network technology, for example PDH (Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy), SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), xDSL (Digital Subscriber Line) and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network.
