Synopsis:

Image processing techniques for medical imaging.

Image formation and acquisition,

preprocessing, compression, edge and object detection. Applications in computer vision and medical image processing.

1. Introduction. Geometric transformations. 3D imaging. Pin-hole camera.

2. Filtration, linear integral transforms and their applications. Wavelets.

3. Segmentation.

4. Image formation, radiometry, color.

5. Texture. Texture segmentation. Compression.

6. Active contours.Levelsets.Compression.

7. Detecting geometric features. RANSAC, Hough transform.

8. Detecting point and scale invariant features. The correspondence problem.

9. Graph-based methods. GRAPHCUT segmentation.

10. PCA, point distribution models.

11. Global registration. Similarity criteria. Optimization.

12. Introduction to medical imaging techniques.

13. Practical application (external expert presentation).
