Synopsis:

Application of motion equation in drives, the load- and dynamical motor torque. Operating modes, electromechanical transient effects. Load types and losses. Drives with DC motors, induction motors, synchronous motors, step motors and switch reluctance motors (SRM). For each type its properties, start, breaking, speed control and block scheme of regulation, range of application.

Requirements:

Active participation on labs (max.3 excused absences), elaboration of check test, presentment of own lab works

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Introduction in drives, motion equation, types of motor torque, load torque, dynamical torque

2.Operating modes, electromechanical transient effects

3.Types of load, losses in drives, dimensioning by load variation

4.Drives with DC external excited motors: Properties, start and breaking methods, speed control

5.Drives with DC external excited motors: Block schemes of control, reversible drives

6.Drives with DC serious excited motors: Properties, start and breaking methods, speed control

7.Drives with DC serious excited motors: Block schemes of control, reversible drives

8.Drives with induction motors: Mechanical characteristic, start and breaking methods, softstart, speed control

9.Drives with induction motors: Scalar, vector and direct torque control methods

10.Drives with induction motors: Sub-synchronous cascade, electrical shaft

11.Drives with synchronous motors: Mechanical characteristic, start and breaking methods, excitation systems

12.Drives wish synchronous motors: Variable speed drive, drive with cycloconverter

13.Drives with step motors, servo-drives,

14.Switch Reluctance Motors, drives with single-phase induction motors

Syllabus of tutorials:

1.Introduction with the lab, setting of individual task on the contact control

2.Explanation of practice by the design of contact control, introduction with contact control laboratory equipment

3.Practice by programming of logic automat Moeller

4.Measurement of a inertia moment and dynamic torque characteristic

5.Dimensioning, a determination of rate power by a periodically changing drive load

6.Check and a function verification of designed contact control on laboratory equipment and LC Moeller

7.Measurement of the DC external excited motor properties with reversible rectifier

8.Continuation of measurement on the DC external excited motor with reversible rectifier

9.Check test, simple examples on a calculation of starting duration

10.Control of an induction motor speed fed from frequency converter

11.Measurement on the sub-synchronous cascade

12.Measurement on variable speed drives with synchronous motor

13.Measurement of linear motor and of step motor characteristics

14.Measurement of DC and AC servomotor characteristics, credit
