Synopsis:

The primary aim of the course is to make the students acknowledged with software equipment of telecommunication systems and with commonly used programming languages. The emphasis is put onto basic knowledge of the SDL language.

Requirements:

1. Telecommunication systems and digital technology

2. Generations of microprocessors and their application in telecommunication technology

3. Programming languages for use in telecommunication technology

4. Assembler. Higher programming languages. CCITT (ITU-T) languages

5. The SDL language. Forms of SDL, basic terms. Reading the language

6. Graphic description of processes. Data processing. Extending symbols

7. Picture elements of the SDL/GR language. Examples of applications

8. Languages CHILL and MML - basic terms, structure

9. Hardware equipment of telecommunication systems. Switching systems

10. Hardware equipment of telecommunication systems. Transmission systems

11. Communication paths and software equipment. ISDN. GSM

12. Operating systems - RMX80, RMX86, RMX88, their application

13. Switching, maintenance and administrative software

14. Methods and organization of software development

2. The SDL language. Basic algorithms and simple programs

3. The graphical editor ORCAD and the programme SYNAPS

4. The SDL language applications

5. Application of the ORCAD programme for drawing schemes in the SDL language

6. Software tools of SDL - the SYNAPS programme

7. Excursion to TTC. Practical applications of software equipment in the PBX

8. Excursion to TTC. Practical applications of software equipment in the PBX

9. Designing the software for control of the MHB8804 switching array. Description in SDL

10. The SDT software

11. The SDT programme applications, basic knowledge, examples

12. The SDT programme and its application for the PBX
