Synopsis:

Wireless transmission, propagation of electromagnetic waves for fixed and mobile services, frequency bands, antenna parameters, radiation conditions of basic structures, linear and planar radiator, antenna arrays, reflectors and lenses, technology and construction of antennas, scattering parameters of RF and microwave circuits, transmission line and resonators, microwave active and passive circuits, subsystems, power budget and design of microwave communication (LOS) system, planar and monolithic circuits, microwave technology and industrial applications.

Requirements:

1.Communications channel, radiowave propagation, antenna parameters, attenuation

2.Transmitting and receiving antennas, reciprocity, duality, complementarity, radiation

3.Basic linear and aperture antenna structures, antenna arrays, array factor

4.Basic planar and combined antenna structures

5.Antenna measurement

6.Frequency spectrum, atmosphere properties, fading, interference

7.Free space propagation

8.Conditions of wave propagation and reception in the LF and VHF bands, surface waves

9.Fundamentals of ionospheric propagation

10.Wave propagation in VHF and higher bands

11.Microwave circuits, basic characteristics

12.Non-linear microwave circuits parameters, noise, intermodulation

13.Non-linear microwave circuits as parts of microwave systems, amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, multipliers, detectors
