Synopsis:

Principles of microwave technics in circuits with distributed and lumped elements, basic measurement instruments, elements and methods, methods for scalar and vector RF and microwave measurements, spectrum and network analyzers, measurement of electromagnetic field, basic measurements of electromagnetic compatibility - interference and susceptibility, measurement of antennas, optoelectronic measurements, noise measurements

1. Introduction to problems of microwave measurement, documentation and presentation

2. Basic microwave measurement components, types of lines, connectors, cables

3. Attenuators, match loads, slotted lines

4. Directional couplers, cavity wave meters

5. Microwave wideband and tuned detector

6. Microwave generators

7. Measurement of frequency and wavelength

8. Measurement of power

9. Measurement of impedance, VSWR, reflection and transmission coefficient measurement

10. Scalar network analyzer

11. Measurement of frequency

12. Measurement of antenna parameters, EMC measurement

13. Measurement of noise

14. Basic optoelectronic measurement

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Microwave components, cables, connectors, attenuatorspractical samples, basic principles of work

2. Basic microwave measurement instruments, generator, power meter, frequency counter

3. Measurement with slotted line, basic measurements of reflections and transmissions

4. Calibration of microwave detectors

5. Corrected measurement of microwave waveguide components

6. Analogue scalar network analyzer, measurement of TV cable network components

7. Computer controlled scalar analyzer, measurement transmissions and reflections of passive coaxial components

8. Measurement of reflections and transmissions of active coaxial elements, influence of input power

9. Vector measurement of real rf. components on 6-port, derivation of equivalent circuits

10. Measurement of frequency spectrum of generators, multipliers, mixers

11. Measurement of antena radiation pattern in antenna chamber

12. Measurement of antenna gain

13. Measurement of noise
