Synopsis:

Operational conditions for vehicle electronic equipment. Vehicle power sources. Laboratory training is oriented on practical measurement of basic assemblies and elements in vehicle equipment. Visit to the ŠKODA AUTO factory in Mladá Boleslav is included.

Requirements:

Active participation on solution of laboratory tasks, correct book-keeping of measurement documentation and results processing. Presentation of measurement reports.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. History of electric vehicle equipment development

2. Motor ignition systems

3. Control of vehicle board power system

4. Control of engine ignition system with emission reduction

5. Diagnostics and safety board vehicle systems

6. Smart braking systems

7. Board communication and navigation vehicle systems

8. Board electric generators

9. Electromagnetic drives for standard and comfort vehicle equipment

10. Piezoelectric drives units

11. DC drives for electric vehicles

12. AC drives for electric vehicles

13. Hybrid drives for vehicles

14. Sources for electric vehicles, accumulators, fuel cells

1. Safety of laboratory works, laboratory operation conditions, list of tasks

2. Electronic engine ignition system measurement

3. Centrifugal and vacuum regulator characteristics measurement

4. Speed characteristics measurement on different alternator regulator types

5. Engine diagnostics on ŠKODA Octavia car

6. Lambda-probe characteristics measurement

7. Car alternator fundamental characteristics measurement

8. Basic alternator characteristics in traffic conditions

9. Measurement of starter static characteristics

10. Starter dynamic characteristics measurement with accumulator driving

11. DC converter characteristic measurement

12. Modelling of DC drive in electric vehicle

13. Visit in ŠKODA AUTO Mladá Boleslav

14. Correction measurements, assessment
