Connection of measuring, diagnostic and monitoring instruments to a PC (including notebooks), their integration into DAQ systems. Connection of smart sensors to these systems. Programming of DAQ systems on the user level. Virtual instrumentation for biomedical application. Integration of measuring, diagnostic and monitoring systems into local nets. Labs are aimed at programming the systems mentioned above using different developing tools.

1. DAQ systems - overview and basic properties of single types, basic structure of a program for DAQ
2. IEEE 488 Interface, IEEE 488.2, and SCPI - Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments
3. Service request (unexpected events or critical states report), serial and parallel poll
4. Connection with serial data transfer (RS-232, USB, Ethernet)
5. Modular systems using plug-in boards - structure and parameters
6. Programming of systems using plug-in boards
7. Application problems of plug-in boards, limits by measuring of dynamic signals, influence of disturbances
8. Graphical developing tools for DAQ systems I
9. Graphical developing tools for DAQ systems II
10. Measured data processing, graphical presentation and direct transfer into spreadsheets and data base systems
11. Virtual instruments for biomedical application
12. Distributed measuring systems - standard interfaces for smart sensor connection
13. Comparison of single types of measuring systems and principle of their integration
