The course gives basic knowledge of elements and systems used in television and radio professional and semiprofessional studio technology and of technology of radio and television production and broadcasting. Expected apriori knowledge is on the level of courses 37TEL and 37ZVT. Laboratory exercises are situated in a small school tv studio and are completed with professional excursions.

2. Television studio complex, television production - example of tv production
3. Television studio - requirements, elements and system of lighting
4. Television camera chain - blocking diagram, objectives, sensors, signal processing
5. Television studio formats (ITU-R 601, SDI, DV), measurement in studio technology
6. Television editing - principles and realisation of video editing (colour keying, etc.)
7. Non-linear editing (principles), virtual studio (principles, definition of camera position)
8. Recording of video signal - principles and systems of magnetic and optical recording
9. Television postproduction, broadcasting formats (profiles of standard MPEG-2)
10. Audio studio - requirements, recording of the sound (voice, musical instruments)
11. Audio production - principles, methods and systems of audio signal processing
12. Recording of audio signal - principles and systems of magnetic and optical recording
13. Audio postproduction and formats of audio signal (Musicam, MP3, system DAB)
14. Summary, measurement of image and sound quality - subjective and objective methods

1. Introduction - organisation of exercises, requirements for credits
2. Introduction to laboratory exercise, preparation of scenario, numerical exercises
3. Measurement of image quality after repeated recording - resolution, signal to noise ratio
4. Measurement on stereoscopic tv system - measurement of binocular disparity range
5. Exercises on tv camera and lighting technique - camera shooting, influence of lighting,
6. Exercises on non-linear editing card - introduction to DV Master non-linear editing card
7. Making of videoclip - adjustment of scene and lighting, shooting after prepared scenario
8. Making of videoclip - completing of the shooting, videoediting on the DV Master card
9. Making of videoclip - videoediting (making effects, chroma keying, inserting titles, etc. )
10. Making of videoclip - completing of the editing; recording on S-VHS and/or CD
11. New professional studio technology (seminar of Sony Czech with examples)
12. Educational excursion to audio technology (Czech radio or audio studio, etc. )
13. Educational excursion to video technology (Czech television or Czech Digital Group, ...)
14. Summary, presentation of videoclip, test, credits
