Synopsis:

This subject deals with measurement of basic acoustic quantities used in communications in both lectures and labs. Transducer calibration methods and means are analysed and main measuring methods are presented. The above mentioned methods and tools are described in detail within the audiology and architectural acoustics as well. Very interesting measurement based on utilizing of artifical head is also described.

1. Basic acoustic quantities and their definition

2. Measurement of acoustic and mechanic impedances

3. Acoustic interferometer. Measurement of absorption coefficient

4. Measuring microphone, description, characteristics and usage

5. Measurement of acoustic pressure

6. Calibration using pistonphone, electrostatic method

7. Reciprocity calibration method

8. Reciprocity in the difussion field, in the spherical wave

9. Measurement of intensity and power

10. Artificial ear, artificial mouth, artificial head, artificial mastoid

11. Measurement in audiology, Telephonometry

12. Reverberation room, anechoic room. Measurement of loudspeakers

13. Measurement of noise and vibrations

14. Measurement in architectural acoustics, reverberation time

1. Calibration of measuring microphones by electrostatic method

2. Calibration of measuring microphones by pistonphon

3. Calibration by reciprocity method. Calibration in the field of travelling spherical wave

4. Measurement on artificial ear, artificial mastoid

5. Measurement of the reverberation time

6. Interpherometer - measurement of specific impedance

7. Measurement of the absorption coefficient

8. Audiometry measurement

9. Measurement of vibrations in solid state

10. Measurement of loudspeaker sensitivity. MLSSA and pulse methods

11. Design of a measuring microphone

12. Acoustic power radiated into the liquid, acoustic cavitation measurement

13. Problems from room acoustics
