Lecturer:
Tutor:
Supervisor:
Department of Control Engineering
Synopsis:

Subject is closing control systems design in industrial technology. The course is the extension of the preceding course on „Control Systems Design“ (35RS). NAZ deals with automation devices requirements in various branches and refers to specific differences of the various branches. The aim of the course is to specify user's requirements for automation devices in the points as HW and SW structure of modern control systems include a way how satisfy these requirements.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Principles of real-time operating systems.

2. Structure of real-time operating systems, examples.

3. Structured control system design using SADT (System Analysis Design Technique).

4. Ideas of system design using SART (SADT for Real-Time).

5. Control system design using SART.

6. Communication as an indivisible part of a control system. Its real-time features.

7. Rate Monotonic Analysis (RMA) of control system algorithm performability and scheduleability.

8. Real-time systems modeling.

9. System verification principles.

10. System verification using finite automata.

11. Steps during project realisation (intention phase, specification, realisation and testing phase).

12. Examples of system design for working mechanisms control.

13. Examples of system design for chemical processes control.

14. Examples of system design for power industry.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Task spawning, priorities under a real-time operating system.

2. Scheduler.

3. Semaphores.

4. Queues.

5. Real-time operating system kernel.

6. Modification of a RT-OS kernel.

7. Assessment and realisation of an SART project.

8. SART project consultation.

9. System analysis using RMA.

10. Verification of the control system previously designed - project assessment.

11. Verification project consultation.

12. Meassurement of communication parameters of the system.

13. Influence of individual parts on the control system throughput.

14. Methods for increasing the control system throughput, credits.
