Synopsis:

Subject is introduction to application automata theory, logic system design and logic (binary) control. Subject describe common problematics of logic systems and their relation to automata theory, synthesis of combinational and sequential logic circuits including practical realization means, binary control of technological plants, control algorithms design and professional HW and SW means of binary control.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Finite state machines as mathematic models of logic systems

2. Combinational logic systems. Synthesis of comb. logic circuits

3. Sequential logic systems. Synthesis of seq.logic circuits

4. Asynchronous, synchronous, pusle-input circuits

5. Realization means of logic systems, TTL,CMOS, circuits MSI,LSI

6. Programmable logic devices PLD,GAL. Design and realization

7. Controller of logic control system. Microprogram-controlled automata

8. Programmable logic controllers PLC, programming

9. Logic control of technologial plants, aim formulation

10. Control algorithms. Directive and feedback control

11. Petri nets, Grafcet. Formaly description of discrete event systems

12. Time and coloured Petri nets, application for algorithmization

13. Professional means of logic control. I/O subsystems

14. Microprocessors means. Example of implementation logic control

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Introduction, organization, safety, tasks description

2. Logic circuits design - specimens.

3. Practical design of synchronous circuit

4. Practical design of asynchronous circuits I.

5. Practical design of asynchronous circuits II.

6. Automata machine by means of LSI controller, PLC, and GAL - specimens.

7. Written test on asynchronous circuit design.

8. LSI controller of automatic washing machine I.

9. LSI controller of automatic washing machine II.

10. PLC controlling automatic washing machine I.

11. PLC controlling of automatic washing machine II.

12. Design and verification of GAL automaton I.

13. Design and verification of GAL automaton II.

14. Assessment, compensation test
