Synopsis:

The course aims to give a system view of production plant control, planing, system definition, system analysis and design methodology, incl. software tools. The security in computer systems, encryption and digital signature techniques are stressed due to data and information security. Brief overview of exploitation of information systems, artificial intelligence techniques and computer integrated manufacturing examples is given as well.

Requirements:

Active participation in seminars and labs, elaboration of practical part.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Manufacturing systems, classification, types

2. Computer Integrated Manufacturing, company structure, information flows in the manufacturing company

3. CIM components: CAD, CAP, CAM, CAQ, CAA

4. Analysis and modeling of a production plant

5. Structured system analysis and design methodology for CIM

6. Feasibility study, requirements analysis and specification, functional specification

7. Entity lifecycle, identification and design of user interface, prototyping, Logical and physical design, project administration

8. Basic concepts of object oriented analysis and design, guidelines, formal approach

9. Dynamic modeling, functional modeling, optimization, examples

10. Unified Modeling Language - specification, basic concepts

11. Security in computer systems for CIM

12. Encrypting algorithms, digital signature for data and information security

13. Information systems for manufacturing, concept of „agent factory“

14. Examples of CIM systems implementations
