Department of Microelectronics
Synopsis:

The course is mostly limited to deal with the electronic equipment of European-standard personal automobiles. The corse tackles individual components of the control, supervision and security systems in the vehicle. A special attention is devoted to the design of control units, applicable device types, activities of these units in relation to the sensors and actuators appearing in the vehicle at large. Another case of special attention deals with the self-testing and automatic servicing of the electronic equipment.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Electronic systems in the vehicle, their operation, properties and influence on the vehicle operation.

2. Engine control systems.

3. Sensors for the engine control unit, input overload protections.

4. Actuators for the engine control unit, fuel injection, ignition.

5. Engine control unit types, their operation, external connections, specific circuit solutions.

6. Supervising systems of the vehicle, data acquisition, systems for door locking, remote control, searching, identification, alarm systems and their sensors.

7. Security systems in the vehicle, data acquisition , data processing for the dashboard displays.
