Synopsis:

The subject deals with basic problems of power system control. First student obtains brief overview about problems of power system evolution, open market and international cooperation. More detailed attention is paid to technical problems of power system control, object functions of system control and methods of optimization, static and dynamics characteristic of the system, control of active and reactive powers, optimal power flow, unit commitment and load curve covering. Subject finishes by dispatch, system and subsidiary services overview.

7. Covering of load curve and unit commitment, hydrothermal coordination

8. Dynamic characteristic and transfer functions of power system

9. Control of voltage and reactive power balance

10. Control of frequency and active power balance

11. Optimization of operation with respect to net topology constrains

12. Optimal power flow

13. Net equivalents, methods of state estimation

14. Dispatch, system and subsidiary services
