Synopsis:

This subject deals with principles and methods of digital signal processing starting with discretization and quantization of analog signals, digital signal processing using integral transformations (Z transformation , Fourier transformation, DFT, FFT, DCT, wavelets), digital filtering and adaptive filtering, low rate speech and image coding. Digital processing of two-dimensional signals is introduced. The accent is given on above mentioned methods and its realization in telecommunications equipment using of modern high-performance digital signal processors.

4. Design of digital filters with finite impulse response

5. Decimation and interpolation filters

6. Finite word length effects in digital filters

7. Digital signal processors architecture

8. Adaptive filters

9. Applications of adaptive algorithms in telecommunications

10. Digital modulations

11. Digitalisation of speech signal

12. Parametric coding methods

13. Image filtering, motion detection and compensation

14. Image compression
