Synopsis:

This subject uses knowledge of Circuits theory and Theory of Electromagnetic Field to describe sound fields and electroacoustic systems. It provides the survey of acoustic transmitters and receivers, electroacoustic transducers and deals with application of piezoelectric elements in communications, design of loudspeakers and microphones and fundamentals of room acoustics.

1. Physiology of hearing. Natural signal sources, speech and musical signals

2. Waves and waveguides in gases, liquids and solid state

3. Acoustic transmitters and systems (acoustic antennas). Reyleigh and Helmholz integral

4. Acoustic field in solid state. Rayleigh surface wave

5. Bulk and surface wave usage in communication

6. Acoustic and mechanical systems with lumped and distributed elements

7. Thin membranes, equivalent circuits

8. Waves in closed spaces, fundamentals of room acoustics, acoustics of studios

9. Electroacoustic transducers in communication and technology

10. Piezoelectric transducers and its usage in communication and technology

11. Electroacoustic elements for acoustic field scanning and generation

12. Electroacoustic receivers - microphones, hydrophones, sensors

13. Electroacoustic transmitters, loudspeakers, systems, actuators, sound reinforcement

14. Generation of power ultrasonic fields, cavitation, applications

2. Models of vibrating systems with distributed parametres

3. Acoustic field in gases

4. Measurement of eigenfrequencies of a closed space

5. Measurement of the waveguide transfer function

6. Measurement of flexure vibrations

7. Measurement of the acoustic power radiated by a loudspeaker

8. Measurement of the piezoelectric transducer impedance

9. Measurement of parametres of the electrodynamic loudspeaker

10. Acoustic field in solid state

11. Analysis of complex acoustic systems

12. Design of sound reinforcement

13. Auditory tests (physiological, psychological and musical acoustics)
