Synopsis:

Design of electric drives - industrial projection procedures. Drive selection considering properties of driving object. Drive component choice and dimensioning Power supply, switching apparatus, protection, electric motor.

Individual drive parts verifiyng.

Active deal on practice in lab, defence of semestral project.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.The main types, fulfilement and application of modern electric drives

2.Driving machine construction - design of mounting, mode of cooling, class of insulation, form of protection etc.

3.Induction, synchronnous and DC motors general characteristics and operating principle

4.Duty type, operating factor, start-up and service mode, power supply, network protection, mounting devices

5.Driven machines, general characteristics, standard applications

6.Drive selection with respect of working condition and economy of operation

7.Power supply components dimensioning - transformer, converter, protections, electric motor

8.Drives with induction machines dimensioning

9.Drives with DC machines dimensioning with serial excitation fed from semiconductor converter

10.Drives with special motor construction

11.Compensation units - static, dynamic, filtering, estimation of energy saving

12.Technical documentation, technical standards, standard harmonisation, quality standards

13.Relibiality, working life , maintenance, diagnostics

14.Modern electric drive problems

1.Introduction to main drive producer project data, detailed calculation of catalogue data

2.Modern CAD method application, utilisation of computer program ACAD

3.Modern CAD method application, utilisation of computer program EPLAN

4.Routine design of drive components, power supply, network protection, mounting devices

5.Visit of Motol hospital, automation of interplant handling

6.Project of drives for fundamental industrial applications

7.Chvaletice thermal powerplant visit

8.Project of induction machine drive fed from frequency converter, computer simulation

9.Visit to Metro repair service society in Prague

10.Project of DC drive fed from semiconductor converter, computer simulation

11.Visit to VZLÚ Letňany - development department

12.Project of induction motor drive, using standard catalogue data

13.Estimation of electric drive relibiality, quality , standards ISO 2000
