Synopsis:

The course presents equipment and systems operations from the point of view of diagnostics and maintenence. It describes components of systems, start-ups, limits of elements, faults and extraordinary behaviour, systems of control of distribution networks, and power quality.

Requirements:

1. Electrical equipment, influence of operation and maintenance on system reliability

2. Methods for increasing system reliability , technical diagnostics

3. Measurement of non electrical values (methods, instruments)

4. Synchronous generators (operation, diagnostic and maintenence)

5. Power transformers (operation, diagnostic and maintenence)

6. Steam power station operation

7. Nuclear power plant operation

8. Heat plant and hydro power plant operation

9. Distribution network components

10. Distribution lines and substations

11. System operations, configurations, limits, tests.

12. Faults and extraordinary states, determination and location of faults

13. Control of distribution systems

14. Distribution systems and the environment
