Terminology and definitions from the area of quality and its control, philosophy of quality, systems of quality control in the world. Series of standards ISO 9000-2000, philosophy, certification. Basic statistical methods and tools for control of quality of a process. Types of control charts and its use. Capability analysis of a process. Definition and using of a loss function. Factorial experiments and their use in optimization of process quality. Combination of typical statistical tools for quality control and factorial experiments for improvement efficiency of quality control
- Requirements:

A student has to have an assessment before an examination. It is obligatory to attend traning. A student has to write and present a short semestral thesis.
- Syllabus of lectures:

1.Basic species and definitions from the area of quality control. Systems TQM (USA), poka-yoke, kaizen, kanban.
2.ISO 900-2000, philosophy, structure, loop of quality
3.Directory of quality, its structure and way of its preparation
4.Task of the management in the system ISO 9000-2000, matrix of responsibility
5.Process of certification according to the ISO 9000-2000, costs joined with establishment of quality system
6.Statistical methods used for quality control of the process in its different phases, estimation of process quality
7.7 Ishikawa tools for quality control, new tools for quality control
8.Check sheet, histogram, Pareto diagram, scatter plot, cause and effect diagram, process flow diagram
9.Control charts for quantitative and qualitative parameters of the process. Range and frequency of sampling
10.Characteristics and computation of process capability
11.Loss function for different types of quality parameters. Taguchi loss function
12.Other statistical tools of quality control - Cusum, EWMA, FMEA, Six Sigma
13.Designed experiments - factorial experiments, optimization of process quality using of factorial experiments
14.Statistical acceptance. Combination of typical statistical tools for quality improvement with factorial experiments
